10/1/2022

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 29000 block of County Road LL in McClave for an agency assist. Deputies were unable to contact the parties at the house.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North Bent Ave for a report of a burglary alarm.  Deputies arrived and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Ave for a civil issue.  Deputies arrived and spoke with both parties who came to an agreement.

Deputies were on patrol on Hwy 50 and MM 411 when they observed a vehicle speeding. Deputies stopped the vehicle and the driver was issued a summons.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th St. for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and the party had two active warrants for their arrest. The party was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail and booked in.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave for a report of someone breaking a window.  Deputies arrived and spoke with the resident who was in the house, and were not able to identify any suspects.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of county road 24 in Hasty for a DUI driver. Deputies were unable to locate the driver. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 24 for a civil issue. Deputies advised the party that the owner wanted them to fix their vehicle and leave the property. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Ash Avenue for a welfare check. Deputies checked on the family and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 7000 block of County Road FF for a medical assist. Deputies provided scene coverage.  

Deputies responded to the 18000 block of Ambassador Thompson for a dog attack. Deputies explained to the party that they would have to speak with the city about surrendering the dog.   

10/2/2022

Deputies responded to the intersection of 9th Street and Carson Avenue. Deputies gave the individual who called a courtesy ride to their residence.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 6th Street for the report of an assault. After further investigation,deputies discovered that there was no assault and that the issue was a civil matter.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street for the report of an unwanted party. Deputies explained to the parties that it is a civil issue.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 410 for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the driver.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave for a civil stand-by. Deputies were unable to make contact with the party requesting the civil standby.

Deputies responded to 4th St and Locust Ave on a report of an animal attack. Deputies found dogs that had gotten out of the fence and were running around town. Deputies assisted the owners in catching the dogs. 

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of CR 10.5 on a report of a juvenile problem. Deputies talked with the youth and made arrangements for the night. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Bent Ave on a report of a fight in progress. Deputies found that the parties were having fun in the alley, and it got a little loud. 

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Locust Ave on a report of a domestic problem. Deputies determined an individual was having a mental health crisis. The individual was transported to SouthEast Mental health via a family member.  

10/3/2022

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave on a report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 406 for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies pulled a vehicle over that matched the description of the suspect vehicle and issued a warning.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Locust Avenue for a funeral escort. Deputies escorted the funeral procession to the Las Animas Cemetery. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue for the report of a burglary. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vine Avenue for an animal call. Deputies were able to come to an agreement with the owner of the animal.

Deputies responded to the 10 block of East 5th Street for the report of suspicious activity. After further investigation, deputies determined there was no crime.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th St. on a follow-up investigation. Deputies arrested an adult female on a warrant. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 5th St. on a report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. Deputies took one adult male into custody. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Ave on a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies investigated and found this to be unfounded. 

10/4/2022

Deputies responded to the 1500 block of 6th Street for a vehicle lockout. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 404 for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the driver.

Deputies responded to the area of South School Street in Hasty for the report of livestock in the road. Deputies were unable to locate the livestock.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 in Fort Lyon for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue for the report of damaged property. After further investigation, deputies determined that the suspect was trespassing.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th Street for a welfare check. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 2nd St. on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies found this to be a false alarm. 

10/5/2022

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grand Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Deputies were able to locate the dog and take it to the pound.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vigil Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a tree in the road way. Deputies conducted traffic control until the tree was removed. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 in Las Animas for the report of a welfare check. Deputies were advised the party showed up for school.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue in McClave for the report of 911 misdial. Deputies were able to locate the phone and all parties were okay.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road 10.75 in Las Animas for the report of lost property. Deputies were able to locate the lost property and return it to the owner.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of GG.5 for a report of theft. Deputies advised it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson in Las Animas for the report of a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the car.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Bent Ave on a report of a fight in process. Deputies separated the parties involved and issued a summons. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Bent Ave on a report of an unwanted party. The unwanted party was found to have two felony warrants. Deputies arrested the party. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Maple Ave on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to locate the suspicious person. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Ave on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies found the party to be having mental health issues and stayed with the party until the family came to get him. The party was taken by family to La Junta for an evaluation. 

10/6/2022

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue in Las Animas for the report of two dogs at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dogs

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Grove Avenue in Las Animas for the report of threats being made. Deputies were able to talk to both parties and no threats were made.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 10th street in Las Animas for the report of a welfare check. Deputies were able to locate the person, and all was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Colorado Highway 194 for a civil standby. Everything remained civil. Deputies cleared the scene without incident.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Ash Avenue for medical assistance. Deputies were advised by medical staff that the family would take them to the ER.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Carson in Las Animas for an RV blocking a parking space. Deputies asked the owner to move the RV to the dirt parking lot.   

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Moore in Las Animas for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to find the person. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Locust in Las Animas for a medical assist. Deputed left due to another call.  

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vine Ave for a welfare check.  Deputies arrived and spoke with the residents and everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash Ave for a report of a woman screaming profanities.  Deputies arrived and spoke with the female party, who declined help and everything was okay after speaking with the deputies.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grove Ave for a burglary alarm. Deputies searched the area and outside the home and spoke with the homeowner and everything was determined to be okay.

10/7/2022

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Vigil Ave for an ambulance assist. Deputies arrived and assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th street for a report of medical assistance. Deputies helped load the patient. 

Deputies responded to the 10 block of 4th street for a kid outside with no clothes. Deputies advised parents that the kids need to be fully dressed when they are outside and have the right clothes for the weather.  

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of county DD.5 in Las Animas for a report of damaged property. Deputies took statements and pictures of the property.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Mile Marker 406 for the report of a damaged car. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with the investigation.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Adams Street in Hasty for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies were able to talk to the homeowner and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Mile Marker 410 for the report of reckless drivers. Deputies were able to locate vehicles and found vehicles doing the speed limit.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Ave in Las Animas for a report of a phone scam. Deputies advised the party to reset their passwords and not pay the money. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 8th street to help assist an outside agency. Deputies advised the party to call La Junta Police Department.

Deputies responded to the 10 block of Moore Ave for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and had them move.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th street for the report of a medical assist. Deputies cleared the scene on a patient refusal.  

Deputies responded to the area of 2nd St. and Vigil Ave for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and spoke with the parties and determined no suspicious activity took place.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave for a report of found property. Deputies spoke with the party and picked up the mail that was left.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Ambassador Thompson for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and determined everything was okay.
