4th Annual Ark Valley Turkey Trot Volunteers Deliver by Drive-Thru

Ark Valley Turkey Trot Volunteers Deliver 200 Meals to Families Across the Valley for Thanksgiving 2022.

For the fourth year in a row, the Turkey Trot/Poker Run and Thanksgiving Meal Give-Away Volunteers have repeated success.

Over 50 motorcycles participated in the 4th Annual Ark Valley Turkey Trot Poker Run Fundraiser on October 8, 2022.

The funds raised were used to order Thanksgiving meals through the Rocky Ford Food Market as in years past.

In previous years they delivered by motorcycle too, but local volunteers have stepped up again and changed their delivery method to save many cold morning rides.

Thanksgiving Meal recipients from across the valley drove through the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds to pick up their turkeys, potatoes and all the sides.

The Turkey Trot volunteers gave out around 150 Thanksgiving meals at the Rocky Ford Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon.

Event organizers said they will deliver the additional remaining meals prior to Thanksgiving, for a total of about 200 meals for families in need across Southeast Colorado.
