11/12/2022

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent avenue for a report of a burglar alarm. Deputies discovered that staff forgot to put the code in.                             

Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Highway 50 for an animal call dealing with a rattlesnake and a trapped child. Homeowners were able to free the child before deputies arrived. 

Deputies responded to County Road JJ and County Road 24 for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was blocking the right of way. Deputies had the vehicle towed.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of cottonwood for a report of phone harassment. Deputies discovered it to be a telemarketing call. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Maple Avenue in Las Animas. Deputies talked to the parents of the juvenile.  

Deputies observed an individual who had a warrant for their arrest in the 400 Block of Vigil in Las Animas. Deputies took the individual into custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and Hwy 196 for a report of a reckless driver. Deputies arrived and were unable to locate the suspected vehicle.

11/13/2022

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple Ave for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel load the patient.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 194 for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies issued the driver a summons to court.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 5th Street for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate the activity.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of a burglar alarm. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies received a call for an ambulance assist at the 900 block of Grand Avenue. The patient refused transport and deputies left the scene. 

Deputies were advised of glass broken in the intersection of 6th Street and McAfee Avenue. Deputies advised dispatch to call the on-call city worker to clean it up.

Deputies received a call for a burglary alarm at the 300 block of 6th street. Deputies determined everything to be okay and contacted the key holder.

11/14/2022

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Bent Avenue for the report of an animal attack. Deputies transported one dog to the Las Animas Dog Pound.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Locust Avenue for the report of an animal call. Deputies located the owner of the animal.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of threats. Deputies spoke to the individual and came to an agreement.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 2nd Street for the report of fraud. Deputies took a report.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Moore Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Both parties came to an agreement.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and CR 12 on a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was previously red tagged by State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grand Ave for a vehicle lockout. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.  

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 1st St. on a report of an animal neglect call. Deputies found the dog to be healthy and taken care of. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 2nd St. to assist the ambulance. Party refused to be transported to the hospital.

11/15/2022

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of McBride Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Locust for the report of a break in. Deputies took a report.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 194 and County Road 1 for the report of an animal call. Deputies transported one dog to the Las Animas Dog Pound.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 5th Street for the report of a stolen vehicle. After further investigation, deputies discovered that the vehicle was not stolen and contacted the owner.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St Vrain Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street for the report of a sex offense. Deputies are still investigating.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 5th St on a report of a missing dog. The dog was located and returned to the owners.

Deputies responded to the 12000 block of CR JJ on a report of trespassing. Deputies found that this was a civil issue. There was nobody on the property.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Grand Ave on a report of a dog that would not stop barking.  When deputies arrived, the owner was in the process of taking the dog into the house.

11/16/2022

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Avenue for the report of a burglar alarm. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the workers set the alarm off.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Elm Avenue for a dog call. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 101 and Mile Marker 2 for expired tags. The driver showed deputies updated tags that they bought and have not put on yet.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Mile Marker 425 for the report of a car versus deer. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with the investigation.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Poplar Ave for a report of a phone scam. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and advised her to block the phone number.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Carson Ave for a report of burglary. Deputies arrived and were unable to locate the suspect.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 10th St for a vehicle unlock. When deputies arrived, the party found her car keys and unlocked the vehicle.

11/17/2022

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 6th St. for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St Vrain Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a hurt dog. Deputies were unable to find the dog.

Deputies responded to the 33000 block of County Road 16 in Las Animas for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies were stood down by the homeowner. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Cottonwood Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Deputies were unable to find the dog.

Deputies along with Department of Human Services responded to the 300 block of Grove Avenue in Las Animas for the report of sexual assault. Deputies and DHS are still investigating.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Maple Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a person locked out of their house. With help from the Fire Department, deputies were able to get into the house. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 in Fort Lyon for the report of lost property. Deputies returned the property to the Prowers County Sheriff Office.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd for a report of vehicle unlock. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Ave for a report of a disturbance. Deputies arrived and determined no disturbance occurred.

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd St and St. Vrain for a report of an animal attack. Deputies arrived and took custody of one dog and transported it to the Dog Pound. The dog’s owner was issued a summons.

11/18/2022

Deputies responded to the 800 block of Ambassador Thompson for a welfare check. Deputies determined everyone was okay.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 4th Street for suspicious activity. Deputies determined there was no suspicious activity and no criminal act was committed.

Deputies responded to the area of 6th Street and Cottonwood Avenue for a dog at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 for a welfare check. Deputies determined everyone was okay.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 2nd Street for a burglar alarm. Deputies determined everything was okay and it was a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Bent Ave in Hasty for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Ave for a report of lost property. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and determined it to be a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Ave for a report of animal cruelty. Deputies investigated and determined the dog had adequate shelter and was not malnourished.
