Obituary

Abran Anthony Lucero, Jr., 60, of Manzanola passed away on November 24, 2022, at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. He was born on September 17, 1962, to Abran Anthony, Sr. & Maria Louisa (Romero) Lucero in Rocky Ford.

He grew up working on the family farm in Manzanola, where he lived most of his life and he graduated high school in 1981. In May of 1988, he met Shannon Lee Stapel and they later married on January 25, 1991. They had three children and two granddaughters whom he loved spending all his time with.

He worked for 12 years at the National Beef Packing in Liberal, Kansas and then 15 years at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility.

Abran enjoyed farming and raising livestock with his wife, teaching his kids and grandkids all his knowledge and fixing anything that needed fixing. If he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed. He loved sitting out looking at the stars and drinking a red beer.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon of the family home; son, Abran Joseph Lucero, III, daughters, Lyric (Tony) Garcia and Maresa Lucero; two granddaughters; sisters, Mona Lucero and Tina Lucero. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abran, Sr. & Maria Louisa Lucero; sister, Vivian Pauline Lucero; brother, Charles Joseph Lucero; nephews, Augustine Julian Corona and Christopher Isaiah Romero.

As per Abran’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
