Obituary

Jerred Dee “JD” Stuart passed away on December 4, 2022, in the family home at the age of 29.  He will be greatly missed by his father, Paul Stuart and mother, Faith R. Foster and his remaining siblings, Christopher, Sam, and Karlee.

JD was born on November 19, 1993, in La Junta, Colorado to Paul Stuart and Faith R. Foster. JD was the youngest of four children for 12 years until the family adopted their youngest, baby Maddie. JD took to being a big brother quite well although the family decided he should not babysit after spraying his sister with Lysol after she messed her diaper, and he couldn’t bring himself to change it. JD was very creative and could build like no other, at one point in his young life he took up building catapults. Once again, his mom had to put a stop to it when she was certain he was going build one big enough to take out the family home. He shined best in school when he had a hands-on project and was able to build things. JD’s teachers always bragged on his creativity and was amazed at his talent. He was very independent from the get-go. When JD was about three, his family was in the mall shopping for school clothes, and he disappeared. Everyone scattered to find him. When his mother located him, she yelled “What the hell were you doing? We couldn’t find you!” and the little man in him says “What? I knew where I was.” JD loved hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather, Gene. He loved the fact you could say and do anything in the camp site and didn’t have to worry about manners. Men just being men. JD was a good uncle and enjoyed playing with the kids even though he wouldn’t admit to it.

JD is survived by his parents, Paul Stuart of Las Animas, CO and Faith Foster of La Junta, CO; siblings, Christopher (Courtney) Stuart of McClave, CO, Samantha Stuart of Gilbert, AZ, Karlee (Casey) Kruise of Las Animas, CO; nieces, Yelena and Yael Befidi; nephews, Camren Stuart and Xavier Alonzo; grandmothers, Doris Stuart and Carolyn Darnell both of Las Animas, CO; many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends whom will all greatly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Clifford and Alice Stuart, and Clara Wheeler; grandfathers, Gene Stuart and Norman Darnell; uncles, Doug Darnell, Gary Darnell, and John Arial; and baby sister, Madison Autumn Kae Stuart.

Cremation has taken place and there are no services scheduled at this time.

Horber Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
