11/26/2022

Deputies received a call to Highway 50 and mile marker 417 for a possible reckless driver. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Deputies received a call to respond to the 500 block of Elm Avenue for an abandoned vehicle. Deputies were advised that the vehicle would be moved by the owner. 

Deputies received a call to the 400 block of Cottonwood Avenue for a loose dog on the road. Deputies got the dog back on the property and cleared the scene. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd for a report of a party flashing a gun. Deputies determined the party did not flash his gun.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 10.5 for a juvenile problem. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and came to agreement with them.

Deputies completed a call back for a citizen complaint.

11/27/2022

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th St. for a report of harassment. Deputies spoke with both parties involved and came to a civil agreement. One party had an active arrest warrant and was transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Avenue for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies determined that it was a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grove Avenue for a vehicle lockout. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 397 in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a possible DUI. Deputies were unable to locate the suspicious car and the reporting party was not willing to file a complaint.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Locust Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust Ave to assist the ambulance. Patient was loaded and taken to the hospital in La Junta.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. Party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

11/28/2022

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash Ave on a report of an unwanted party. The party left the residence without incident.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd on a report of an unwanted party. Deputies had the party leave without incident. 

Deputies came across a vehicle stopped at the intersection of 4th and Elm Ave. When making contact, the vehicle took off and refused to stop. Pursuit came to an end on Highway 194 between mileposts 12 and 13. One party was taken into custody.

Deputies received a call to the 600 block of Carson Avenue for an unwanted party. The male party left the area and deputies cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call for a backpack left in the area of 8th and Elm Avenue. Deputies took the bag and placed it into property at the Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies received a call to respond to the 700 block of Bent Avenue for an unwanted party. Deputies took one male party into custody.

Deputies received a call to the 1200 block of 9th Street for possible harassment. Deputies advised both parties to leave each other alone and to stay off one's property. 

Deputies received a call to the 11000 block of County Road FF.75 for livestock on the road. Deputies returned the livestock back to the property. 

Deputies received a call to respond to the 800 block of 9th street for a medical alarm. Deputies determined everything to be okay. 

Deputies received a call to the 500 block of 5th Street for suspicious activity. Deputies arrived but did not observe any activity. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave on a report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Ave on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies found all doors to be secure and determined it to be a false alarm.

11/29/2022

Deputies responded to Highway 101 and mile post 1 for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies talked to the parties involved and found everything to be okay. 

Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a home visit and arrested two parties. Deputies transported both parties to the Bent County Jail, and they were booked in.

Deputies received a call to the 500 block of Elm Avenue for a security check on a residence. Deputies determined everything to be okay and advised the owner. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of Oak St in McClave on a report of a 911 misdial. Deputies found everything to be okay and the call was an accident. 

Deputies received a call to the 1000 block of Elm Avenue for a 911 from a juvenile. Deputies determined everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and milepost 419 on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle in question. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of an unwanted party. Deputies did a civil stand-by until the party packed and left the premises. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of a subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies talked with the subject and advised them of resources available. The party left with family. 

11/30/2022

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and MM 412 for a report of a traffic accident. Deputies arrived and had the parties involved fill out a witness statement.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th St and Grand Ave for a report of domestic abuse. Deputies arrived and spoke with both parties and determined it to be just an argument between the parties.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and milepost 12 for a head-on, 2-vehicle collision. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with the scene.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Bent for a welfare check.  Deputies determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Ave for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived, spoke with the party, and gave information on the bus schedule. 

12/1/2022

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 400 for a report of a suicidal party. Deputies attempted to locate the party but were unable to locate the party.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson for a report of a disturbance. Deputies arrived and attempted to locate the parties involved but they both had left prior to deputies arrival.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of County Road GG.5 for an unwanted party. When deputies arrived the party had already left the area, and were unable to locate the party.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Avenue for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Columbine Place for the report of a suspicious person.  Deputies determined there was no criminal activity and everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th Street and Lois Avenue for the report of dogs at large.  Deputies were unable to locate the dogs.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 4th Street for a welfare check.  Deputies determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th & Grand for the report of dogs at large.  Deputies patrolled the area numerous times but were unable to locate the dogs.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 4th St for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies spoke with the party and the party was waiting for a ride to pick the party up.

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd St. and Maple Ave for a report of kids screaming. Deputies located the kids and spoke with the children's parents and determined everything was okay.

12/2/2022

Deputies responded to the 20 block of 5th St. for a report of a missing person. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and informed them that the person was not missing.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 4th Street for an unwanted party.  Upon arrival, the individual had already left without issue.

Deputies responded to 10th Street, between Bent & Carson Avenues, for the report of broken power lines. Upon arrival, Las Animas Utilities were on scene to repair the lines.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Avenue for a burglar alarm. Deputies determined the alarm to be a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Elm Ave for a report of a burglary. Deputies arrived and the owner was not home. Deputies verified the house was secure and cleared from the scene.
