Note: The Crowley Community Library at 1007 Main Street Ordway, CO is open from 2-6pm and available as a warm place during those hours, but is not an overnight shelter.

Closures & Delays:

Golden Plains Insurance Offices in Walsh and Springfield are closed today - December 22, 2022. Call 719-336-8292 if you have any questions. Thank you for your understanding.

Arkansas Valley Hospice is closed today 12/22/22 due to weather but always available 24/7 call 719-384-8827.

The La Junta Chamber office will be closed Thursday, Dec 22, 2022 for the weather, we will be open Friday from 10AM-1PM. We will be remote working from Tuesday Dec 27 through Friday Dec 30 so that we may enjoy the holidays with family. You can call or email us and some one will get back to you! Have the most joyous of Holidays and stay warm!

The Arkansas Valley Pregnancy Center will be closed today, Thursday, December 22nd, due to the inclement weather. Stay warm everyone!

The Rocky Ford Chamber office will be closed today, December 22, 2022. Will be back in the office tomorrow. Be safe out there today.

All Otero County offices will be closed today. Trial Courts and Probation will remain open from 8-3.

The trial courts and probation in the 16th Judicial District will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday.  All scheduled court proceedings will continue as scheduled.  Notice has been provided to parties that virtual appearances are acceptable for all cases scheduled for Thursday.  Virtual WebEx courtroom information is available on the Court's webpage...

Due to dangerously cold temperatures on December 22nd, 2022, Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site will be closed.  The fort will reopen Friday, December 23rd.

Due to extremely cold temperatures, there will be NO SCHOOL for Swink on Thursday 12/22/22 along with NO sporting/musical practices. Stay safe!

Rocky Ford library will be closed. Friday hours will be 9-1. Stay safe and warm!

Bent County offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday due to predicted extreme cold.

City of Las Animas Offices will be closed.

Las Animas School District will not have school on Thursday due to extreme cold weather and wind chill conditions. The windchill factor is anticipated to be 30 below zero for most of the day. Early Learning Center Daycare at the elementary will also be closed on Thursday but are planning to open on Friday as of now.

Bent County Public Health will be closed both Thursday and Friday. 12/22-23

The Board of County Commissioners for Prowers County has determined that all County offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, December 22. This decision was made first out of an abundance of caution for employee safety. The County offices will also be closed Friday December 23rd and Monday December 26th for the Christmas Holiday.

Due to adverse weather conditions, only a limited amount of City of Lamar employees have been requested to work today to keep essential services running. Trash service is running as normal.

Due to extreme cold temperatures expected on Thursday, Town Hall for the Town of Ordway will be closed to the public on December 22, 2022. Staff will be available to answer phone calls in the event of emergencies or to take phone payments. Town Hall can be reached at (719) 267-3134.

The Crowley Community Library will also be open December 22, 2022, for those who need a place to stay warm.

The Town of Ordway would like to remind residents and businesses that with extreme cold temperatures to please keep faucets dripping (both hot and cold) and any outside hoses disconnected.
