Obituary

Lupe Gonzales, 74, of Pueblo West, passed away on December 19, 2022, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 19, 1948 in La Junta to Marcelino & Tomasa Vasquez. Lupe married Benny A. Gonzales; he preceded her in death on June 17, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Gonzales, Richard Gonzales, and Sherry (Donny) Vela all of Pueblo West; brothers & sisters-in-laws, Isabel (Julia) Vasquez of Centennial, CO, Paul & Bonnie Vasquez of Pueblo; sister, Stella Apodaca of Denver; and brother, George Vasquez of La Junta; sister-in-law, Lucille Vasquez of Denver; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. Lupe was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Gonzales, her parents, and her brothers, Joe, Frank & Marcelino, Jr.

Lupe was a wonderful housewife, loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lupe loved her flowers and dancing.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Saturday, January 7, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
