1/7/2023

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and County Road 8.75 for a motorist assist. Deputies assisted the motorist with a blown tire.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 50 near MM 410. The driver was issued a summons.

Deputies responded to Hwy 196 and 2nd St in McClave for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Deputies spoke with both parties and one party received a citation.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of St.Vrain for a welfare check call. Deputies contacted the party and everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Grand ave for a medical call. Deputies discovered a deceased party and conducted a search warrant of the residence. Deputies are currently investigating. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of West 6th street for a disturbance call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

1/8/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 101 mile marker 1 for suspicious activity. Deputies located the vehicle and all juveniles were returned to their parents.  

Deputies received a phone call about a juvenile being contacted over social media by an unknown person. Deputies are investigating. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of an assault. Deputies investigated and determined it to be unfounded.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 for the report of a 911 hang up. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 399 for the report of a traffic problem. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Bent Avenue for the report of a 911 hang up. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand Avenue for the report of a domestic problem. After further investigation, deputies searched for one male individual and were unable to locate him.

1/9/2023

Deputies responded to the 28,000 block of Highway 101 to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and taken to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd for a report of a hit and run. Deputies investigated the matter. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of CR 10 for a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 5th St. on a report of a sex assault. Deputies are still investigating this situation. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grove Ave on a report of dogs running at large. The owner had got the dogs back in their house before deputies arrived. 

Deputies responded to the 1400 block on a report of an assault. Deputies are still investigating the situation. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile post 401 on a report of a dangerous driver. Deputies were unable to locate the suspected  vehicle. 

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and CR 10 for a report of a tractor trailer blocking the road. The vehicle was removed from the road by the owner. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Maple Ave to assist the ambulance. Deputies had to leave for another call before this was complete. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 for the report of harassment. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of a vehicle lockout. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 4th Street for the report of a civil issue. Deputies confirmed that it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th Street and Moore Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Deputies were unable to locate the individual making the noise.

1/10/2023

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street for the report of a death. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the individual that passed away was on hospice and left the matter in the hands of hospice.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and CR 7.5 on a report of cattle on the roadway. The cattle were put back to pasture. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand Ave on a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies separated the parties involved. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th St. on a report of a found, stolen vehicle. Deputies took the vehicle off of the stolen vehicle list. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St. Vrain Ave to assist the power company. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Park Ave on a report of a violation of a protection order. Deputies investigated and discovered there was no protection order. 

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd St and Bent Ave on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies contacted the driver and issued a summons.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Poplar Ave to do a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Moore Ave to deliver an important message to the residence. Deputies delivered the message. Deputies discovered the individual in respiratory distress and had an ambulance respond. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 3rd St on a report of a dog running at large. The dog was back with the owner by the time deputies arrived. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies gave the party a warning. 

Deputies responded to the area of 9th St. and Grand Ave on a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies found everything to be okay. The parties were separated. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Avenue for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

1/11/2023

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 3rd Street for the report of dogs at large.  Deputies were unable to locate the dogs.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 3rd Street for the report of a structure fire. Deputies made sure all occupants were out of the residence and assisted the fire department.

Deputies returned a phone call regarding a civil matter. Deputies provided the requested information.

During a shakedown in the Bent County Jail, jail deputies found contraband in an inmate's cell. Deputies investigated the matter. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand Avenue for the report of a cold burglary. Deputies were not able to see any indication of forced entry or any evidence of missing items.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 400 for a call of a reckless driver. Deputies made contact with the driver and the driver was released on a warning. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grand Ave for a fraud call. Deputies advised the reporting party to fill out a statement form to assist with our investigation. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St. Vrain Ave for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies contacted the party and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the Bent County Jail for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted with the patient.

Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Highway 101 for a welfare check. Deputies were unable to locate the party. 

1/12/2023

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 3rd Street for the report of dogs at large. Deputies issued a warning and informed the owner of the city ordinance regarding loose dogs.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of South Park Street for the report of identity theft. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 41,000 block of County Road 34 for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the individual and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St. Vrain Avenue for the report of a suicidal party.  Deputies spoke with the party and he stated he was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St. Vrain for the report of a road hazard. Deputies took possession of the item.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grand Avenue for the report of a fight at the school. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent avenue for a trespassing call. Deputies made contact and the individual was trespassed from the property. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50 and mile marker 402 for speeding. Deputies issued the driver a citation for speed. 

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th street for a call of suspicious activity. Deputies contacted the party and issued a warning to stay away from the property. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of south main street for a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street for a call of a suspicious person. Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to locate the individual. 

Deputies observed an individual who had a warrant for their arrest in the 200 block of 5th street in Las Animas. Deputies took the individual into custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail. 

1/13/2023

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson for a call of an unwanted party. Deputies made contact and the party was trespassed from the property. 

Deputies responded to the 15000 block of Highway 50 for a call of a suspicious person. Deputies located the individual and gave a courtesy ride to Prowers County.  

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of an abandoned vehicle. Deputies contacted a tow company for the business owner.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust avenue for a welfare check. Deputies made contact with the individual and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 389 for a suspicious person call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 396 for an abandoned vehicle call. Deputies located the vehicle and contacted Colorado State Patrol. State Patrol tagged the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of county road FF.5 for a suspicious person call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 394 for a reckless driver call. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson to assist with a vehicle lockout. Deputies successfully unlocked the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 395 to assist Colorado State Patrol with a contact on a suspicious person call. State Patrol had the situation resolved upon deputy arrival.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Maple avenue for a disturbance call. Deputies made contact with the involved parties and upon further investigation, determined it was a civil issue.
