Lamar Fire VS Electrical Fire

This morning at 0434 Lamar Fire was dispatched to the 400 block of North 7th street for structure fire. Engine 6 was first due and reported light lazy smoke coming from the Delta side roof. Captain Cook established command and requested a second tone for a working structure fire.

Upon a 360 of the house a thermal imager was used to find the area of heat. Heat was detected in the Charlie/ Delta corner. Quint 1 and Truck 1 arrived on scene and assignments were issued. Quint 1 made entry and did a primary search of the house and found no trapped occupants or animals.

Truck 1 was used to ladder the house and begin roof ops. Incoming units were abandoned and remained in service.

Lamar Light and Power and ATMOS Energy arrived on scene to secure the utilities.  An entry crew went inside the structure to work with the roof crew to find the fire in the attic area.

A smoldering fire of insulation was found found in the Charlie/ Delta corner. The crews cut an inspection hole in the roof and crews also pulled the ceiling from inside the structure.

The fire was extinguished and crews began overhaul.  The fire was determined to be electrical in nature. All units cleared the scene and returned to full service at 0615.

Thank you to Lamar Light and Power, ATMOS Energy, Prowers County Dispatch, and Lamar PD for the assistance.  No injuries were reported from the occupants and fire personnel. Units on the call was  Engine 6, Quint 1, Truck 1, Engine 5, Rescue 1, Med 1, Med 3, and FRU1.
