2/11/2023

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Locust Avenue for the report of a violation of protection order. After further investigation, deputies discovered that there was no protection order in place.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of South School Street in Hasty, Colorado for the report of a gas leak. Hasty Fire Department determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of CR 10 on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to locate the person in question.  

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Grand Ave on a report of dogs running at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dogs in question. 

2/12/2023

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Columbine Place for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted medical staff and the patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 31,000 block of County road 10.5 for a call of assault. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent avenue for a call of fraud. Deputies arrived on scene and determined this was an internal investigation. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Carson avenue for a call of theft. Deputies responded and the property was returned to the owner. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street for a call of harassment. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road FF.5 for a call of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party. Deputies determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Ambassador Thompson for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted the medical staff. The patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 4th in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Oak Avenue in Las Animas for the report of medical assistance. Deputies helped load the patient.

Deputies got a report of a reckless driver at Highway 50 and Mile-marker 388 heading West from Las Animas. Deputies were unable to locate. 

2/13/2023

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 10th street for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene, assisted the medical staff, and the party was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 & CR 13 for debris in the road. CDOT responded and the debris was cleaned up.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue for a civil standby/eviction. The tenants left the area and the property was turned over to the owner. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd St for an ambulance assist. The patient was loaded into the ambulance safely.  

Deputies responded to the 800 block of Vine avenue for a call of fireworks being set off. Deputies arrived to the area and contacted the individual. Deputies issued a warning to the party. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash for a report of harassment. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered it was a civil issue between roommates.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Oakland Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. The parties left the scene before deputies arrived. 

2/14/2023

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent avenue for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Locust avenue for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted medical staff. The patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Peck avenue for a call of a missing person. Deputies were advised by the school that the party was not in school. Deputies contacted the parents and were unable to locate the individual. 

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 4th street for a call of a reckless driver. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party. Deputies were unable to locate the driver.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar avenue for a call of harassment. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. Deputies were unable to contact the victim. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil to put a deceased animal in a bag for disposal. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile-marker 426 for livestock on the highway. Deputies were unable to locate any livestock.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Ambassador Thompson boulevard for an ambulance assist. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted the medical crew. The patient was transported to the hospital. 

2/15/2023

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 6th street for an animal call. Deputies found the animals to be okay.  

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of grove for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Peck Ave for a juvenile problem. Deputies spoke with the juvenile and parents and helped resolve the issue.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Ave on a report of suspicious activity. Deputies found this to be a civil issue. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Locust Ave to assist the public. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Peck Ave to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Ave on a report of an accident. Deputies advised parties to report it on the State Patrol website. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Ave on a report of a dog running at large. The owner of the dog was given a warning. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and CR 13 on a report of an accident. Deputies assisted CSP with the investigation. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 4th St. to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 to assist the ambulance. The patient refused transport. 

Deputies responded to the area of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard and Grand Avenue for the report of a vehicle versus dog. Upon arrival, deputies could not locate the dog or the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Ash Ave to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 at County Road 30 for the report of a vehicle in the ditch.  Deputies arrived and ensured everyone was okay. Deputies requested a tow for the driver and waited on scene for the tow since the occupants were unable to exit the vehicle due to the vehicle being buried to the side view mirrors in snow.

Deputies responded to County Road 24 approximately 1/2-mile north of Highway 50 for a vehicle with its hazard lights on. Deputies arrived and determined the vehicle was unattended. Deputies contacted the registered owner and were informed the vehicle had run out of gas. The owner stated they would come retrieve the vehicle in the morning, due to the inclement weather.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th Street and Maple Avenue for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies determined the vehicle had run out of gas and the battery had died.  Deputies assisted with pushing the vehicle to the side of the roadway.

2/16/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th St. to assist the public. Deputies opened a locked door. 

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th and Grove Ave for a traffic accident. Deputies were on scene when it happened, and one driver was issued a citation.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 6th St for a report of animal attack. Deputies spoke with both parties involved and it was determined by the involved parties to handle it through the civil process.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 5th St. to assist the ambulance. The patient refused transport. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of East 5th St. to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies were at the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 when a party turned himself in on a warrant. Deputies escorted the party to the jail where he was booked in.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd St. to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile post 423 on a report of a single vehicle accident with no injuries. Deputies took a report on the incident. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 3rd St. on a report of unwanted parties. Deputies found this to be a civil issue. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Ave on a report of dogs running at large. Deputies were unable to locate the animals. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Garfield Ave on a report of a dog fight. Deputies were unable to locate the fighting dogs. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 415 for the report of livestock on the road. Deputies were unable to locate the livestock.

Deputies responded to the intersection of County Road KK and County Road 7 for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate anyone suspicious.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the driver.

2/17/2023

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of cattle out. Deputies contacted responsible parties who took over the cattle. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Grand Ave to assist the ambulance. The patient refused transport. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of an assault. Deputies wrote three summons in this case. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Ash Ave to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta.  

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and milepost 393 to assist CSP. This stop was performed without incident. 

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of CR 24 on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies investigated and found this to be a civil issue and advised the party to request a civil standby. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of  CR GG.5 to assist with an inmate. Deputies helped the jail staff. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of identity theft. Deputies took a report and advised the party who to contact. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Maple Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one unresponsive male party and began CPR.
