LA JUNTA — Otero College is excited to welcome Alex Acosta to the rattler family as he takes on the duties as Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. He began in his position on March 1, 2023.

Athletic Director, Chris Carrillo, stated, “I am excited to work with Coach Acosta.  He is very knowledgeable of our Region and understands what it takes to be successful within it. He has hit the ground running since he has arrived on campus and the response from our student athletes has been extremely positive. We are looking forward to continued success on and off the course with Coach Acosta leading the program. The future for Otero Golf is bright!”

Coach Acosta comes to Otero from Garden City, Kan. where he taught Personal Finance and a sports management elective at Horace Good Middle School. He was also the assistant football coach and head girls’ soccer coach.
