LJFD VS North LJ Brush Fire 3/14/23
At approx 445 pm today we responded to the 1800 block of Himebaugh in North La Junta for a brush fire.
Upon arrival the fire was about a 1 to 1 1/2 acres burning toward the river bottom. A fast aggressive initial attack stopped the fire spread.
Crews worked the perimeter and cut down a couple of large trees that were burning up toward the tops.
Crews made sure the are area was 100% extinguished.
The cause of the fire was from an escaped controlled burn.
