2/25/2023

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Ave for a report of persons arguing. Deputies investigated and determined that the parties involved had been drinking and had become loud. The parties involved were requested to keep the noise down.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 6th St. to do a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 33000 block of CR 10 for a civil standby. 

Deputies received a call from a party in Lamar asking for a courtesy ride to Las Animas. Deputies were unable to provide this service. 

Deputies responded to the area of 6th and Ash St. for a report of a dog at large. Deputies were unable to locate any dogs loose in the area.

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd and Carson Ave for a traffic crash. Deputies issued a summons to the at-fault driver.

Deputies responded to the 26,000 block of Highway 101 for a vehicle lockout. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Carson Ave in Las Animas on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies found this to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to the 27,000 block of Highway 101 on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies found this to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Bent Avenue for a report of a person with a warrant. Deputies investigated and located a person with an active warrant. Deputies placed the person under arrest and transported them to the BCSO Jail.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 2nd Street for a report of fire. Deputies investigated and were unable to locate any fire, or any evidence of a fire in the immediate area.

2/26/2023

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th street for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted medical staff. The patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County road 10 for a civil issue. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with all involved parties and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple avenue for a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to successfully unlock the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the Bent County Jail for an assault. Deputies arrived on scene and the individual refused to make any statements. 

Deputies responded to a call concerning two young kids walking west on US-50 around MM400. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any persons.

Deputies responded to the corner of 5th street and Moore Avenue for a call of an assault. Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to contact the suspect. The individual fled from deputies. Deputies placed the party in custody, and he was transported to the Bent County Jail.  

Deputies responded to a call from a motorist concerning a possible reckless driver. Deputies were unable to observe reckless driving, but spoke with the driver. No further action.

2/27/2023

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 6th street for a call of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the individual. It was determined that everything was okay and the party left the area. 

Deputies responded to the 21,000 block of County road JJ for a call of trespassing. Deputies arrived on scene and determined the party had permission to be on the property. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 6th St. for a dog at large. Deputies were able to locate the dog and it was returned to its owner.

Deputies spoke to a male party at the Bent County Sheriff's Office about a civil issue. Deputies advised the male party that it was a civil issue and whom they could speak with. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th street for a noise complaint. Deputies arrived on scene and patrolled the area and determined there were no loud noises. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grove Ave for an abandoned dog. Deputies located the dog, and it was taken to the pound.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County road 15 for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted medical staff. The individual was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar avenue for a domestic disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all parties. Deputies determined no crime was committed and everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Lois Ave for a dog at large. Deputies located the dog and took it to the pound.

Deputies responded to the Bent County Jail for a report of an altercation. Deputies were able to resolve the issue.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of County road GG for a Jail incident. Deputies assisted the BCSO Jail with the incident.

2/28/2023

Deputies responded to State Highway 101 at mile marker 7 for a report of livestock in the roadway. Deputies were able to move the livestock into a fenced area. 

Deputies responded to the 700 S Adams in Hasty, CO to assist DHS with a home evaluation. Deputies stood by while DHS completed their evaluation. Everything was found to be okay at this time. 

Deputies were advised of a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of 3rd Street. The reporting individual told deputies that the vehicle left the area prior to them contacting BCSO. They will contact BCSO if the vehicle returns. 

Deputies received a call for a broken down semi at Ambassador Thompson Boulevard and Ash Avenue. Deputies assisted with traffic control until the semi was able to move.

Deputies received a call to the 10 block of Carson Avenue for a dog attack. Deputies investigated and gave the owner of the dog a summons to court. 

Deputies were advised of a suspicious fax sent to the Post Office in Hasty, CO. Deputies spoke to the involved individuals and advised them to contact BCSO if anything else happens. 

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Carson Ave to assist the Bent County Ambulance Service. BCAS staff transported one individual to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Bent Ave for a civil problem. Deputies separated both parties and advised them to call the courts. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Bent Ave for a fake ID. Deputies took the ID from the party.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Popular for a welfare check. Deputies talked to the parties involved and determined everything was okay.

3/1/2023

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of an incident in the jail. All parties were separated. 

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of CR 10.5 on a report of a family disturbance. Deputies investigated the incident and issued it to the DA's office for review. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of Cottonwood Ave on a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was not blocking anything and was on private property. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th St to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Maple Ave on a report of a 911 misdial. Deputies were unable to locate the party involved. 

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 10.5 for the report of a juvenile issue. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Carson Avenue for the report of a violation of protection order. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

3/2/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and CR 7 on a report of cattle on the highway. Deputies were unable to locate the cattle. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash Ave on a report of suspicious activity. Deputies placed the residence on the property watch list. 

Deputies responded to the 33,000 block of County road 24 for a welfare check. Deputies arrived and contacted the individual and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the Las Animas middle school for a call of an assault. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party. He did not want to press charges. 

Deputies spoke to a party about a possible theft. Deputies provided a case number to the individual and will be resolved by the insurance company. 

Deputies located two dogs on the 400th block of 4th St. and St Vrain. The dog was returned to its owner.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of harassment. Deputies determined that there was no harassment.

Deputies responded to the 28,000 block of Highway 101 for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent avenue for a call of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived on scene and determined the individual had permission to be on the property. 

3/3/2023

Deputies responded to the 28,000 block of Highway 101 for a call of suspicious activity. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50 and County road 14. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the driver had a valid warrant for their arrest. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of Oak street for a call of animal attack. Deputies contacted the owner and issued a warning. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Avenue for a juvenile call. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Locust Avenue for a call of assault. Deputies determined it was a civil issue and that no criminal activity took place.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.
