City of Rocky Ford Fairgrounds GOCO Grant Public Input Follow Up
Interview Transcript:
SECO News: Back with the city of Rocky Ford, Shannon Wallace with us City Manager, talking about the GOCO grant fund. You guys just had an outreach with the community about what they want to see from the Rocky Ford Fairgrounds and the Crystal Lake revitalization and restoration project. Tell us a little bit. How the public turned out for that.
Wallace: Yeah, that was a really good turnout. I believe that they calculated around 75 people coming in and out. Okay. It was from 11 to three, so you know. The first thing in the morning there, there was quite a few people, and you know it stayed pretty steady. They had some really good sections to go to where you can take little sticky notes and you put them on the posters of, you know, some of the things that you wanna see. So they had a couple different things of that. They had walking tacos, which they ended up using all the food that was donated for that. So that was a good turnout. You know, everybody likes free food. So we, we absolutely had a good turn turnout on those things. They had big maps with people writing on them. Things that they wanna see, things that they wanna do. So I can't wait to see what Electra does with all of that information in the future to see where we're at and some of the things that all the people are wanting to do.
SECO news: Was there anything in particular that stood out for you that might have been, you know, an idea that hadn't been mentioned before?
Wallace: For mine, I've seen a lot, a couple people had dog park on there. A couple people had a place to ride four-wheelers, which are things that I really never thought of. So those are kind of unique things that were, that were brought up that I saw, you know, people writing down and those kind of things. So that was very interesting to see some of the ideas that people had.
SECO news: Very good. Well keep us updated as the progress continues on the project. And I look forward to interviewing you at Crystal Lake one of these days.
Wallace: I hope so. Thank you so much.
SECO news: Hey, thank you, Shannon.
