BNSF Railway Releases La Junta Derailment Incident Report

Description: BNSF Railway Released the following statement regarding the train derailment that occurred in La Junta, Colorado on March 26, 2023.

BNSF Railway Releases La Junta Derailment Report

"BNSF Railway can confirm that at approximately 6:00 am central time, four cars derailed within the BNSF rail facility in La Junta, CO."

"There are no injuries and no hazardous materials compromised."

"This incident does not pose a threat to the public.  The cause of the incident is under investigation."

Correction: We previously reported that the cars contained Crude Oil and this was not the case, according to BNSF officials, "The two cars on their side are carrying octanes which can be used as a solvent in the pharmaceutical industry."
