La Junta Fire Department: Hwy 109 Brush Fire Contained

The La Junta Fire Department Released the Following Report:

"Update on the fire. The total acreage burned was 27 acres. Thank you to all the agencies that came and helped."

"There is a fire on Hwy 109 and Rd Y in La Junta."

"The fire is contained but lots of mop up to do."

"Crews on scene La Junta Fire, Rocky Ford Fire Department, Cheraw Volunteer Fire Department, Las Animas/Bent County Fire Protection District, DFPC Eng 34, OCSO and CDOT helping with traffic control."

"27 acres burned," according to the La Junta Fire Department.
