Description: Tuesday, April 18 CO 71/CR 18 will be closed at US 50 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

US 50 & CO 71 Intersection Improvement Project

Traffic Update April 9 to April 15

The intersection improvement project will take place on US Highway 50 at CO Highway 71/County Road 18 in Rocky Ford.

● Motorists Should Plan For:

US 50 (MP 366.74 to MP 367.12) and CO 71/CR 18 (MP 16.16 to MP 16.31)

• Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. intermittent east and westbound single lane closure on US 50

• 24/7 10 foot wide 100 foot long restriction and lane shift on CO 71/CR 18

• Tuesday, April 18 CO 71/CR 18 will be closed at US 50 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work will consist of grading, material placement and conduit installation.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.

Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.

• Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

● Watch for workers. Drive with caution.

Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

● Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.

● Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

● Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

● Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you. • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.

● Be patient!
