Rocky Ford Fire Department VS Electrical Caused Structure Fire

Today at approximately 8:15am we were paged to Hwy EB Hwy 50 west of the water plant for a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, tenants were self evacuated, then we saw moderate smoke development from the attic space and eaves.

Minimum impact suppression tactics were used and an aggressive attack allowed for quick suppression.

Cause of fire in attic space due to aged electrical wiring with degradation causing ignition.

This caused smoldering insulation to develop over time into fire extension along ceiling.

No injuries were reported and all units cleared scene at 9:25am.
