Description: The La Junta Police Department Released the Following Report Regarding a High Speed Chase ending in Meadows Trailer Park on June 1, 2023.

LJPD Makes Arrest After 2nd High Speed Pursuit Ends on Foot

"Thursday afternoon, the La Junta Police Department responded to multiple calls about a grey or white Dodge pickup driving recklessly in La Junta."

"Officers attempted to contact the vehicle and it fled. A pursuit began, leading officers out of town on Highway 350 where officers discontinued the pursuit."

"The vehicle came back into town again and drove recklessly requiring officers to reengage the pursuit."

"The vehicle fled to an address in the Meadows Trailer Park where the suspect was arrested after a short foot pursuit."

"The suspect has been medically cleared and taken to Otero County Jail for booking on multiple charges to include felony eluding, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and assault on police officers."

According to the La Junta Police, all officers are safe and the suspect did not sustain injury.

Otero Sheriff's Office, Colorado State Patrol and the La Junta Fire Department assisted.
