4/15/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Garfield for suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate anyone. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent for a burglar alarm. Deputies checked the building and found no signs of entry. 

Deputies responded to Moore St for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies discovered a party looking for a friend's house on the wrong street. Deputies helped them find the right street.

Deputies responded to a burglar alarm in Hasty. Deputies were stood down by the homeowner.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue for the report of a violation of protection order. Deputies discovered that the protection order had not been served yet.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 10.5 for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the area of 10th St and Vine Ave for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Deputies spoke with all parties involved who decided to handle this incident in a civil matter.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave for a vehicle unlock. Deputies unlocked the vehicle for the owner.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th and Grand Ave for a report of four dogs out. Deputies arrived and helped the owner get the last dog back in the yard.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Ave for a vehicle unlock. The unlock was unsuccessful.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Vine for a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle. 

Deputies were requested to respond to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for a Drug Recognition Expert Evaluation. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of Highway 183 for a burglary. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the party had a valid warrant for their arrest. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vigil for suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to find anyone in the area.

4/16/2023

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 3rd Street in Las Animas for the report of a domestic problem. Deputies took statements from the parties.  

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Popular for a 911 misdial. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th street for a dog at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dogs.

Deputies were patrolling and were waved down by a pedestrian at the 200 block of 6th Street. Deputies spoke with the male party and cleared. 

Deputies received a call to the 400 block of Poplar Avenue for suspicious activity. Deputies searched the area and determined everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to assist another agency with an abandoned vehicle. Deputies  determined the vehicle to be related to other calls in the area.

Deputies received a call to 8th Street and Grand Avenue for a possible theft. Deputies advised both parties that it was not a theft and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call for a civil issue at the 600 block of Bent Avenue. Deputies advised the male party of his options. 

Deputies received a call to the 300 block of Elm Avenue for a child walking in the area with no shoes on and no parents around. Deputies assisted DSS who took the child into their custody. Deputies also took one male party into custody on an out of state warrant. 

Deputies were approached by a male party concerned about possibly finding drugs on the 300 block of 6th street. Deputies collected the substance and conducted tests. The substance did not test positive for any illegal drugs. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Avenue for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted medical staff. The individual was transported to the hospital.

4/17/2023

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash Avenue for an animal call. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the owner of the animal. Deputies were able to resolve the issue. 

Deputies received a call to the 1500 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for a suspicious person. Deputies gave the female party a ride to Otero County. 

Deputies received a call for an ambulance assist at the 300 block Vigil Avenue. Deputies left the scene due to the female party denying service. 

Deputies received a call to the 700 block of Carson Avenue for a male party with an active warrant. Deputies took one male into custody and transported him to the jail. 

Deputies received a call to the 200 block of Locust Avenue for a male that was trespassing. Deputies were unable to locate the male party to trespass him at that time. 

Deputies received a call to the 700 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for a male party with an active warrant. Deputies took the male party into custody and transported him to the jail. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for a call of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. All parties vacated the area and no criminal action was taken. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Avenue for a call of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and determined it was a civil issue. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 405 for a call of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for a call of shots fired. Deputies quickly arrived on scene and spoke with all reporting parties. Deputies along with the assistance of the Bent County Posse patrolled the area and were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the area of 5th street and Garfield Avenue for the call of an animal attack. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies issued a verbal warning. 

4/18/2023

Deputies received a call about possible illegal narcotics. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. Deputies determined no crime had been committed. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a call of an assault. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies placed one party in custody and transported to the Bent County Jail. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 15 to assist another agency. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies assisted the agency in transporting one individual. 

Deputies received a call to the 300 block of Cottonwood Avenue for a cold burglary. Deputies gave statements to the reporting parties and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call to the 700 block of McAfee Avenue for a vehicle hit and run. Deputies took statements from the reporting party and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call to the 100 block of Locust Avenue for damaged property. Deputies determined no property damaged but advised the male party to stay away from the property.

Deputies received a call to assist the ambulance service at Highway 50 and County road 6.5. Deputies assisted the ambulance in loading the patient.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Garfield Ave for a 911 misdial. Deputies spoke with the residents and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar avenue for a call of damaged property. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. Deputies did not have enough information to pursue any criminal charges. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Mcafee avenue for a call of a hit and run.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th street for a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party and victim. One individual was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and County Road 8 for a 911 misdial. Deputies arrived on scene and were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and County road 7 for a call of livestock on the Highway. Deputies arrived on scene and the cows were returned to their field. 

Deputies responded to the 8,000 block of Highway 194 for a party trespassing. Deputies took the party into custody and booked into the Bent County Jail.

Deputies received a call to the 21000 block of County road JJ for trespassing. Deputies conducted a search but were unable to locate. 

Deputies received a call to the 10th block of 6th Street for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with the female party and determined everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to CR JJ and CR 13 for a controlled burn. Deputies advised the property owner to call dispatch in the future.

Deputies received a call to the 300 block of Garfield Avenue for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and placed their residence on the property watch list.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for the report of a fight in the jail. Deputies transported one male individual to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 10 for a report of harassment. After talking with both parties, it was determined to be civil.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Moore Ave for a report of harassment. Deputies spoke with all parties and determined it to be a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the area of the limb pile for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious vehicles.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 15 for a party refusing to leave. Deputies spoke with the party and the party left without incident.

Deputies responded to the Bent County/Kiowa County line for a brush fire.

4/20/2023

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 423 for a report of a car vs deer accident. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Ave for a report of a juvenile possibly under the influence. Deputies spoke with the parties and determined the juvenile was under the influence.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Locust Avenue for the report of an unwanted party. Deputies asked the individual to leave the property.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North Bent Avenue for the report of theft. After further investigation, deputies discovered that the individual had extraditable warrants. Deputies took the male individual into custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to Highway 194 at milepost 18.5 for a brush fire.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Avenue for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Oakland Avenue for the report of a welfare check. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for the report of a civil issue. Deputies explained that the issue was civil and helped as much as they were legally allowed to help.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of Garfield Avenue for the report of a burglary. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 410 to assist Colorado State Patrol. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a driving under the influence investigation and one male party was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

4/21/2023

Deputies responded to the 8000 block of County Road GG for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate the activity.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 4th Street for the report of a possible domestic problem. After further investigation, deputies discovered that it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 10th Street for the report of a child walking alone. Deputies were able to locate the guardians.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for the report of a vehicle unlocking. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 1,800 block of Ambassador Thompson for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies checked the residence and everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 390 for a report of a reckless driver. Deputies contacted and checked to make sure everything was okay.

4/22/2023

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and County Road 20 for an agency assist. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 3rd Street for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of South Adams Street in Hasty for the report of a dog vs. dog fight. After further investigation, both owners came to an agreement.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th street for the report of a burglary. After further investigation, deputies determined that it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Moore Avenue for the report of a 911 hang up. Deputies were unable to locate the individual that called.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 11th Street and Lois Avenue for the report of cows on the highway. Deputies were able to return the cows to their pasture.

Deputies responded to the area of Highway 50 and County Road 7.5 for an open 911 call. Deputies located the vehicle and spoke with both parties, and it was a civil argument.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Lois for a party with a gun. Deputies searched the area along with buildings and were unable to locate the party.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand for a civil issue. Deputies discovered one of the parties had a valid warrant. The party was transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St. Vrain Ave for a party refusing to leave. Deputies arrived and the party was already gone.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 19 for a suspicious person. Deputies gave the party a ride to Las Animas.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 for a false alarm.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Carson Avenue. Deputies placed the driver in custody, due to having an active warrant for their arrest. The party was transported to the Bent County Jail. 

4/23/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of vigil for a medical assist.

Deputies responded to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for an agency assist. Deputies assisted Crowley County Sheriff Office with a driving under the influence investigation.

Deputies received a call to the 400 block of 6th Street for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, deputies were advised a burglary occurred at the address. Deputies found one male party matching a description who was questioned and he was taken into custody. 

Deputies received a call for a cover car to assist Colorado State Patrol at Highway 50 and mile marker 411 for road sides. Deputies cleared the scene and CSP gave one female a warning. 

Deputies were asked by Rocky Ford to go to the 30000 block of County road 15 to look for a possible stolen vehicle. Deputies looked for the vehicle but were unable to locate. 

Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with a traffic stop. Deputies transported one female party to the Jail with an active warrant. 

Deputies received a call to the 10000 block of County road EE for a controlled burn that got out of hand. Deputies cleared after determining everything to be okay. 

Deputies received a call to the limb pile for suspicious activity. Deputies were told that people were dumping items in the limb pile that were not limbs. Deputies will keep an eye out for this activity. 

Deputies received a call to Highway 50 and County road 28 for a suspicious party. Deputies were unable to locate upon arrival. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Garfield Avenue for a structure fire.

Deputies received a call to the 400 block of Vigil Avenue for a cold burglary. Deputies placed the property on the property watch list. 

Deputies received a call to the 30000 block of Oak Street in McClave for threats made. Deputies spoke with the parents who stated they just wanted to report the issue with no further action taken. 

Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol on a traffic stop. Deputies cleared after the stop. 

Deputies received a call to the 300 block of Grove Avenue for a burglary alarm. Deputies determined it to be a false alarm and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call to the 400 block of Grove Avenue for an animal attack. Deputies located the owner of the dog and issued a summons to court. The dog was taken to the dog pound for quarantine. 

Deputies received a call to the 700 block of Carson Avenue for harassment. Deputies determined everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of County Road EE for a call of suspicious activity. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies issued a warning. 

Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of Highway 50 for a motorist assist. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. Deputies assisted with moving the vehicle off the highway. Deputies gave the party a courtesy ride back to town. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County Road 6.5 for a motorist assist. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the individual. Deputies gave the party a courtesy ride back to town. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North Bent Avenue for a call of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies determined no crime had been committed.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Avenue for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted medical staff. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 at CR 17.5 for a brush fire.

Deputies received  a call to Highway 194 and County road 7.5 for cattle out. Deputies cleared the highway of cattle and contacted the owners. 

Deputies received a call to 4th street and Elm Avenue for dogs at large. Deputies arrived on scene and advised the owner. 

Deputies received a call to County road 13 and Highway 50 for a suspicious party. Deputies contacted the female party and determined that everything was okay. 

Deputies received a call to the 900 block of 9th Street for damaged property. Deputies determined it to be a civil issue and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call to the 300 block of Elm Avenue for a possible burglary. Deputies spoke with the caretakers of the residence and placed the home on the property watch list. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th street for a call of theft. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. The individual did not want to pursue criminal charges.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th street for a call of damaged property. Deputies arrived on scene and determined it was a civil problem. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 5th street for a call of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party. Deputies determined no crime had been committed. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 2nd street for an animal call. Deputies were unable to locate.

Deputies received a call for suspicious activity at 749 Grand Avenue. Deputies determined everything to be okay upon speaking with the reporting party. 

Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Cottonwood Ave for a vehicle lock out. Deputies arrived and were able to get the vehicle unlocked.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for a report of missing property. Deputies placed the property on the watch list and advised the individual to contact the sheriff's office if there are any other occurrences.

Deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of 4th St for a dog stolen. Deputies arrived and found the dog was still in the yard.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St. Vrain Avenue for a report of a 911 misdial. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies received a call to the 700 block of 3rd Street for a possible disturbance. Deputies took one male into custody for multiple warrants and possession of controlled substances with a firearm. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Locust Avenue for a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Avenue for a juvenile problem. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies determined no crime had been committed.

Deputies responded to the area of 1st street and St Vrain Avenue for a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of S Adams Street for a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil for an ambulance call.  Deputies assisted with the patient.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 near the Otero County line for the report of a reckless/dangerous driver. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Bent Avenue for possible property damage.

Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of 6th St for a vehicle lock out. Deputies arrived and were able to get the door unlocked.

Deputies responded to 8th and Grand for a report of theft. Deputies found out that the party gave the items in question to another party and forgot.  

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 6th street for a report of  a person shooting a gun out of a vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the party and advised them not to point any type of firearm real or fake out the window of a car.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of east 6th street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies found it to be BNSF workers. 

4/27/2023

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar for a safety check. Deputies found everything to be ok and took one party to their home. 

Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop on the 300 block of Popular for a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle tried to elude the officer. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Bent Avenue and North Star Lane for the report of a 911 hang up. Deputies were unable to locate anyone.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd Street for the report of a mental subject. Deputies were able to calm the individual down.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 3rd Street for the report of an animal call. Deputies were unable to locate the animal.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Grove Avenue for the report of an assault. Deputies took a report.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of a traffic crash with property damage. After further investigation, deputies determined that there was no traffic crash.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th Street and Locust Avenue for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

While handing a seperate call for service, deputies were advised of another incident that happened in the 500 block of Poplar Avenue, in regards to a possible sexual assault. 

4/28/2023

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th Street for the report of a violation of protection order. After further investigation, deputies discovered that there was no protection order and that the issue was civil.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 2nd Street and St Vrain Avenue for the report of an abandoned vehicle. Deputies contacted the owner to get the vehicle towed.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Independence Boulevard for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies determined that the vehicle got stuck in the mud trying to turn around.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash Avenue for the report of harassment. Deputies determined that the issue was civil.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 5th street for the report of a traffic accident. Deputies took a report.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 6th Street for the report of a stolen vehicle. Deputies took a report.

Deputies responded to East 5th Street for the report of a dog on the loose. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Bent Avenue and Prowers Court for the report of a juvenile issue. Deputies were unable to locate the juvenile.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th street and Carson Avenue for the report of dogs on the loose. Deputies searched for the dogs but were unable to locate them.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard and Grand Avenue for the report of a traffic problem. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road 10.75 for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies contacted a male party driving a vehicle without tags and spilling its load onto US50 at mile marker 398. The driver was issued a summons for traffic offenses.

Deputies received a call regarding suspicious activity on the 1000 block of Bent Avenue. Deputies answered questions over the phone.

Deputies observed an individual known to have an active warrant for their arrest in the 1100 block of Cottonwood Avenue. Deputies placed the individual in custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Carson for a report of a suspicious male person. After patrols of the location and general vicinity, deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Avenue for a burglary. Deputies arrived on scene and searched the home. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect. Deputies will patrol the area until further notice. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies discovered that the vehicle was stolen and took one male individual into custody and transferred him to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash to assist in the return of property between two parties. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 6th and Elm for no license plate. Deputies issued a summons to the driver.
