Obituary

Robert Schulz of Olney Springs passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at his home at the age of 85. Bob was born in Huron County, Michigan to Edward and Hannah Schulz. After graduating high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. While he was in the Marines he was a Golden Glove boxer. After leaving the Marines he got himself a trainer and continued to box. Bob met Kathleen Kleinfield in Sebewaing, MI, they started seeing each other and were married in 1957. They started a family together in Michigan. Bob worked for General Motors while in Michigan and also with the county doing roadwork. He was also a truck driver.

They moved their family to Fowler in 1974 where Bob continued driving trucks. He drove for a lot of different companies and even was at the mines in Leadville for a while. Kathleen passed away in 1992. Bob remarried to Ellen Houston in 1995 and they were married until 2022 when Ellen passed away at home. Bob enjoyed being with his family and playing cards. Bob had a Goldwing and loved going on motorcycle rides.

Bob is survived by 7 children: David (Sue) Schulz of Manzanola, Clifford (Jenifer) Schulz of Rocky Ford, Celeste Jackson, Jonathon (Christine) Schulz, James (Marilyn) Schulz all of Olney Springs, Desiree (Steven) Glenister of MI, Dustin (Laurie) Schulz of La Junta, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Maeda Nixon & Alice Campbell both of MI. He was preceded in death by his 2 wives, parents, 3 brothers, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 1 son-in-law and 1 daughter-in-law.

Private services will be held.

Bellwood Ford Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
