2023 Wreaths Across America Program Accepting Donation to Serve and Succeed

"Serve and Succeed" is the theme for the 2023 Wreaths Across America program. The National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on Saturday, December 16 2023. We ask you to join more than two million volunteers and supporters as we recognize our fallen veterans with the deeply patriotic and beautiful wreath decorations on their graves this December.

Las Animas VFW Auxiliary #2411 will be kicking off our biggest fundraiser, with wreaths selling for $17.00 each, and all wreath donations due no later than November 17th.

Your donations can go to a specific veteran at any of our local cemeteries (Fort Lyon National Cemetery; Bent County/Las Animas Cemetery; and Peaceful Valley Cemetery), or you can pick up the wreaths you have purchased at Fort Lyon on December 16th and place them at a cemetery/veterans grave of your choice.

The Auxiliary receives $5.00 per wreath donation, and we use these funds throughout the year to support veterans in our area. These donations are deeply appreciated by this organization, and tremendously by the veterans themselves.

There are a lot of "pieces and parts" to the WAA program that must be in place before December 16th, so we strongly encourage you to fill out and return this application immediately, along with your $17.00 per wreath donation. Please make your checks payable to "Wreaths Across America."

Our WAA group coordinator this year is Dianna Robinson. If you have questions, her phone number is 719-469-1689. You can also contact Darla Youngblood, Ft. Lyon Location Coordinator at 303-670- 9077. We will miss Kathleen's guidance and direction, but we will carry on in her honor, and in honor of our fallen veterans. Please help us make this December 2023 WAA day special as we recognize our veterans by serving them and managing a successful local program to honor them.

Please return your application and checks to:

Dianna Robinson, WAA Group coordinator, 405 Cottonwood Ave Las Animas Co 81054

May God Bless our Veterans, our Troops, and may GOD BLESS AMERICA!

- Dianna Robinson, VFWA/Wreaths Across America, Bent County Group Program Coordinator
