LJPD Seeking Info on Stolen Purse and Guns at La Junta City Park

Description: The La Junta Police Department is seeking information regarding an incident that occurred at La Junta City Park Wednesday morning. The suspect was driving the older model suburban with temporary plates expiring in Sept. 2023. Do Not Approach - Contact Local Law Enforcement if you have information about the suspects.

LJPD: Info Wanted in Stolen Purse and Guns at LJ City Park

At approximately 10 am today, September 13, 2023, a woman was walking her dog at the City Park in La Junta, CO. As she attempted to get in her vehicle an unknown male described as hispanic, 5’5 tall with a heavy build and with a star tattoo and piercing near his eye, approached her and demanded money. 

The victim attempted to enter her vehicle and was stopped by the suspect who stole her purse and two handguns from inside the vehicle. The suspect also had a tan pit bull with him at the time. 

The suspect ran away from the area and may be driving an older model Escalade with temporary plates expiring in Sept 2023. It is unknown what state the vehicle plate was registered.

Approximately two hours later two females attempted to use the victim’s credit cards at a Family Dollar store in Pueblo, CO.

Attached are photos of the suspect, the two females and the suspected vehicle taken from security cameras.

Do not attempt to interact with the suspect as he may be armed and has demonstrated a tendency violence. 

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
