Obituary

Floyd Marshall “Butch” Frazier, 74, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his La Junta home. He was born Tuesday, March 22, 1949 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Joe & Agnes (Parker) Frazier.

Butch enjoyed playing music and entertaining the community, most recently performing at the beer garden during the Arkansas Valley Fair this year. He could play virtually any instrument you gave him including the guitar, drums and piano. Outside of playing music, Butch loved riding his Harley, going fishing and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Butch was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage and was a member of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, OK. Butch will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He and his family would like to thank and share their appreciation and love to his niece Renee, and her husband, Doug Jones, great-nieces Sarah Castor and Nikki (Sheldon) Specht for everything they have done.

Butch is survived by his children, Heather (David) Vowles of Pueblo, CO; Cassie (Alfred) Gonzales, Jr. of La Junta; Chase Frazier of La Junta; Chance (Nichole) Frazier of La Junta; grandchildren, Kayleena, Bradley, Ashley, Braxton, Maddox, Alonna, Javion, Easton, Alizeh, Mikaela, Erabella, and Nickolias; 7 great- grandchildren; sister, Lea Rutherford; and mother-in-law, Helen McClure; numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends near and far also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Dealey Frazier; brothers, “Jake”, “Boop”, & Robert Frazier; Frank Hicks, and George Castor; sisters, Blanche, Audrey, Joann, Sandy, and Nancy; father-in-law, Don McClure.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service for Butch, both services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta, CO with Pastor Steve Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
