La Junta Police: Man Wanted for Gun Theft at City Park Identified

Felony Arrest Warrant Issued for James Andrew Torrez 

Update: Suspect turned himself in to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office on September 20, 2023...

La Junta Police Department is seeking assistance to locate the following person suspected of committing felony crimes against a person on September 13, 2023 in La Junta, CO. 

The suspect is identified as James Andrew Torrez of Pueblo, CO. 

A felony warrant has been issued by the District Court in La Junta, CO for his arrest. 

Mr. Torrez is accused of threatening bodily harm and robbing the victim at City Park around 10:00 am, stealing her purse and two handguns while she attempted to enter her vehicle after walking her dog. 

Mr. Torrez may be driving a two-tone white and brown Cadilac Escalade with temporary license plates expiring in September of 2023.

Do not attempt to interact with the suspect as he may be armed and has demonstrated a tendency violence.
