Obituary

Sheila Norton was born on Oct. 11, 1942 to Samuel and Ruby (Carter) Moreland. Sheila grew up on a ranch North of Fowler and attended Fowler High School. Sheila married her high school sweetheart, Jake, in June of 1960. Two children were born to Jake and Sheila, a daughter, Holly, and a son, Jade. After her children were grown, Sheila went back to college and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Jake and Sheila owned and operated Jake Norton Realty and Auction Company for many years in Fowler. They worked throughout the Arkansas Valley and had many successful and fun years making lots of friends and memories along the way. Sheila was also very active in her church and the community. She played the organ and piano for her church for many years, and sang with a group of ladies called “New Dawn” who sang for many functions over the years. At a later age in life, she joined the Arkansas Valley Toast Master, a public speaking organization.

In addition to her many talents, Sheila was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended all of her kids and grandkids events, near and far, and was a very loving and devoted woman to all of her family. Sheila touched many lives throughout her life, sharing her love, kindness, generosity, and cheerful spirit to everyone she met.

She is survived by her husband Jake; daughter Holly (Joe) Ribaudo and son Jade (Annie) Norton; grandchildren Courtney (Tom) Baird, Brett (Brandee) Ribaudo, Jiana Norton, Jayden Norton (Jace Lewis) Jace Norton, Breana Arnold, and Tori Arnold; three great grandchildren Luke Ribaudo, Brooklyn Ribaudo, and Braxton Baird; siblings Sammi (Jim) Mason and Steve (Vera) Moreland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Pfeiff, Ferrel Edens, and Jerry (Karen) Norton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she cherished.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Faith Baptist Church in Fowler, Colorado.
