Lee Marvin Whorton

Lee Marvin Whorton, 94, passed away on November 1, 2023 at the Fowler Health Care Center in Fowler, CO. He was born Sunday, April 21, 1929 in Nickerson, Kansas to Oscar & Ruby (Hamlin) Whorton.

Lee was a long time resident of La Junta, Colorado. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement. He loved fishing, camping, working with horses and goats, and hanging out with his family

Lee is survived by his three children, Dennis Whorton of Pueblo, CO; Marilyn (Craig) Brazeau of Calhan, CO; and Debbie (Mike) Bogner of La Junta; brother, Randel Whorton of Westminster, CO; sister, Mavis of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Brazeau-Rugg; Kimberly Whorton-Able, Chad (Ashley) Bogner; and Jennifer Bogner; along with 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Katheryn McWhirt-Whorton and his brothers Allen Whorton and Elvin Whorton.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta with Pastor Danny Aragon of Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
