Obituary

On November 5, 2023, at 10:50 am Eva left this world to be with her daughter Marleen, surrounded by her loving husband of almost 50 years.

Eva Louise Keller was born on March 29, 1932, in Olney Springs, Colorado to Willis & Marguerite Gribble. She had 4 older brothers, Francis, James, Jack, and George, and 5 younger brothers, Claude, David, Milton, Cecil, and Wesley. She also had 2 younger sisters, Clara and Alma Marie. All are deceased except Claude.

Eva graduated from nursing school in 1972 from the Mennonite School of Nursing. Eva was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary as well. She enjoyed camping with the Good Sam’s which she and Lee were lifelong members and often helped host the jamborees as well as holding state officer titles. Eva and Lee were crowned king and queen one year for Good Sam’s.

Eva has four children, Marleen, Becky, Stan and Goldie. She married her loving husband, Ronald "Lee" Keller on Christmas of 1973. Eva has 2 Grandchildren, Mick (Emily) Vickroy and Jean Hicks. She was a great-grandmother to 4 boys, Samuel Goheen, Mykale Goheen, Kyllian Goheen, and Jude Vickroy, whom she took pride in displaying all of their artwork and school pictures.

She was known for her extensive Nutcracker collection that her children and grandchildren would add to every year. Eva loved to crochet, machine embroidery, and make quilts. She had a great sense of humor and has left behind plenty of jokes for us to all remember her by. Playing cards was one of her favorite events to do with her family, even if we thought she was hiding cards up her sleeves. She will be-greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Miller of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
