Colorado State Patrol Releases Crash Report Hwy 96 Motorcycle VS SUV Nov 5, 2023

One Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Hwy 96

The initial incident report from the Colorado State Patrol showed that they recieved a callout for a motorcycle crash on November 5 at 4:45 pm on Hwy 96 near mile post 93.

According to the Colorado State Patrol Public Information Officer there was one injured party as a result of the two-vehicle accident.

Vehicle 1: Harley Davidson RA1250

Vehicle 2: Mitsubishi Outlander

Vehicle 1: 31 year old male of Colorado Springs; suffered serious injuries; no restraint used, was ejected, and transported for medical treatment. 

Vehicle 2: Single occupant 22 male of Ordway, Colorado, no injuries, seatbelt was used, was not ejected.

Narrative:

Vehicle 1 was westbound on Hwy 96, vehicle 2 was westbound on Hwy 96, vehicle 1 collided with the left rear of vehicle two, vehicle 1 went across the left side of the road and traveled in the eastbound lane and began to roll. Vehicle 1 went off the left side of the road and rolled several times. Vehicle 1 and the driver came to rest South of the road. Vehicle Two came to rest on the westbound shoulder on Hwy 96 facing West. 

At this time alcohol and drugs are not suspected, however, the state patrol reports that excessive speed is suspected at this time. The incident is under investigation.
