Rocky Ford Fire Dept. VS Two Structure Fires

Between yesterday and today we have unfortunately had two structure fires in our district. 

First one was yesterday at approximately 6pm on CR 22 north of Hwy 266 for an unoccupied trailer house fully engulfed. 

Upon arrival fire had almost completely consumed the home. 

No injuries were reported for this fire.  Cause of fire is undetermined.

Second structure fire was this morning at approximately 4:30 am.

Mutual aid response was requested from Manzanola Volunteer Fire Department, and the La Junta Fire Department. 

Cause of fire determined to be improperly wired space heater in the home shorted out. 

No injuries were reported and the house is a total loss. 

All units cleared at approximately 7 am.  Thank you all for your help.
