Obituary

Peggy Ann Meyer, 71, of Rocky Ford passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at her home. Peggy was born to Dorwin and Leatha Sparks. The family moved around when she was growing up. Peggy met Chuck Meyer and they were married on August 5, 1976, in Rock Springs, WY and they settled in Rocky Ford.

Peggy worked at the Rocky Ford Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed sewing, she would enter her craft projects into the Ark Valley Fair. She also liked the annual Ark Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival. When she was younger, she enjoyed traveling. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Working for the Chamber of Commerce allowed her the opportunity to make many friends in the community and see them often. Peggy loved children, especially her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her 3 sons: Ronnie (Nicole) Bayless of UT, Shane (Christie) Bayless of WY, Scott Bayless of FL, 6 grandchildren: Austin, Ashlynn, Hunter, Makayla, Aspen, Kayla, Savanna, Jackson, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Mike, Sparks of WY, Doug Sparks of Pueblo, numerous nieces and nephews. She had a very special relationship with her niece, Mellisa (Mike) Strickland and her two children, Brayden and Katilyn. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, father, stepfather and mother, sister Gail Sparks.

Services will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Friday, November 17th at 10:00 A.M. A memorial fund has been set up to sponsor a balloon in her and her husband’s name next November.
