La Junta Police Seeking Info in Hit and Run Accident

The La Junta Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify a vehicle and person who may have been involved in an accident with a bicycle.

On November 4th at approximately 15:50 hours a bicyclist was traveling eastbound on US Hwy 50 approaching the turn lane with Grant Avenue in La Junta when he was hit by a white mid 90s Ford extended cab pickup.

The vehicle continued east and turned south on Grant Avenue. This driver may not be aware they were involved in the crash.

The vehicle is distinctive with a black brush guard, white cab with a black flatbed. The short video shows the vehicle only for a brief moment.  Please note the vehicle is similar to the one pictured here.
