Otero County Commissioners Meeting Nov 13, 2023

Monday afternoon the Otero County Commissioners recognized Otero County employees with years of service awards during their regular meeting. The commissioners also heard from Pebble Pearl during the public input portion of the meeting. Her Letter is included below. In new business the commissioners approved a bid proposal for the windows on the historic masonic lodge, which is listed on the Otero County Historic Registry, and now houses the District Attorney's Office.

The commissioner's unanimously approved the application for a grey and black-market marijuana enforcement grant that the county has received in previous years. Funds would only be used on marijuana enforcement and not other drugs.

The commissioners approved the ambulance permits for American Medical Response. A third party agreement with Ground Engineering, Inc. for    was also approved by the commissioners.

Otero County Administrator Amy White-Tanabe gave the county sales tax report, which was $3,419 more than August of 2022, which is a 1.52% increase over the previous year.

In announcements, the commissioners canceled the meeting scheduled for November 27, 2023. The Otero County Courthouse and all county offices will be closed November 23 through 24 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. Also the 2024 final budget introduction is scheduled for December 18, 2023 at 1:30PM and the 2024 Final Budget Adoption is scheduled for December 21, 2023 at 1:30PM.
