Obituary

Adeline Lucero 93 years young of Rocky Ford, Colorado, departed December 2, 2023 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Care Center in La Junta, Colorado. She was Born March 22, 1930 in Carizo, New Mexico, to Antonio J, and Margaret Sandoval who both proceed her in death along with her husband Rumaldo Encinias, brothers, Jose, David, Leo, Tony, Eutimio and sisters Dolores and Teresa, her son Ruben T. Aragon, grandsons Mathew Lopez, and (baby) Jared Lucero, A daughter, A sister, A mother, and a grandmother are a few titles she was known for. Adeline was a hard-working mother working multiple jobs most times as a seamstress and cook. She also made many blankets for family members. Some still have to this day. Her favorite color was green like her beautiful eyes. She was always cooking and baking, sending you off with a full belly and a full heart. If you sat and had conversations, you know she was a storyteller sharing her memories and life and making some up too. We will remember all her silly faces and artistic crafty ways along with her wonderful sense of humor. Adeline was a collector of many items. She enjoyed music and always knew how to have a good time or making one. She enjoyed and attended the Rocky Ford Fairs and always played bingo. She loved going to all all the Pueblo State Fairs and even visiting and taking a picture with a monkey. She went to every circus that came to town and threatened you if not. She loved zoo trips and sitting outside watching the birds. Her favorite pass time was anytime and anywhere that she could be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved every single one of them.

Adeline is survived by her sisters, Louisa Rubol, Viola and Louie Resendez, children, grandchildren, daughter Jean and Ben Aragon. Grandchildren, Tim and Emily Aragon, Jason and Crystal Aragon, Aaron and Tory Aragon, son George Lucero, son, Ralph and Linda Lucero, grandchildren, Ralph and Muska Lucero Carmen Lucero, son Charlie Lucero, grandchildren, Ruben Hammer, Chantel Hammer son, Vince and Regina Lucero, grandchildren, Marcos Lucero, Vincent and Jacklyn Lucero, daughter Pita Valerio, grandchildren, Brandon Aragon, Xavier Encinas, Deverrea Valerio, Diamond and James Mattmann, Rosalia Aragon and many great grandchildren who will all miss her dearly!

A 10:00 A.M. Rosary followed by a 10:30 Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky ford, Colorado Wednesday December 13, with viewing at 9:30AM rosary at 10:00 and a funeral mass at 10:30 AM. A committal service will be held at the Rocky Ford Cemetery following funeral services. arrangements have been trusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
