Rocky Ford Police Arrest Man With Gun After Incident at the Bar

On December 7th, 2023, at approximately 11:38 pm, the Rocky Ford Police Department were dispatched to the Dawgg House Bar and Grill, 606 Elm Ave, Rocky Ford, on the report of someone pointing a gun at customers who were standing outside. Initial information was that the party was armed with a rifle. 

Officers, assisted by the Otero County Sheriff's Office, quickly arrived and located the 58 year old male suspect, lying in a ditch by the railroad tracks.  The suspect was found to be intoxicated and had a handgun in his possession.  

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Bent County Jail on charges of Felony Menacing and Prohibited Use of a Weapon.  

The suspect is presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a Court of law.
