Obituary

Pauline Ramirez, 85, of La Junta, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at her La Junta home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Wednesday, January 26, 1938 in Swink, Colorado to Felix & Guadalupe (Terrazas) Rodriguez.

She was raised and attended school in Swink, Colorado and graduated in 1958. Pauline met Johnny Ramirez while employed at Western Food pickle plant. They were married on March 11, 1961 and lived in La Junta where she became a housewife & mother and together, raised their 4 children. Pauline loved the Lord and was always playing Christian Music. She was a collector of CDs, cassette tapes, pictures, and newspaper articles. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Johnny Ramirez of the La Junta home; children, Victoria M. Ramirez; Regina Acosta; Jane Villareal; and Juan Ramirez; 9 grandchildren, Daniel Whatley; Katheryn Carson; Erika Whatley; Kristina Ruiz; Danny Lopez, Jr.; Alishia Salazar; Andrew Salazar; Mariah Fernandez; and Alyssa Martin; 11 great-grandchildren, Aaron Whatley, Mario Ruiz, Diego Salazar, Jaden Bickel; Quianna Ruiz; Bryce Bickel; Jasiah Torres; Nico Ruiz; Jayla Fernandez; Jackson Martin; and Noah Fernandez; 1 great-great-grandchild, Masai Ruiz. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Felix & Guadalupe Rodriguez; son-in-law, David Villarreal; brothers, Enjinjo, Benji, Richard, Rufus, James, George, and John Rodriguez; sisters, Josie Montez, Connie Moreno, Mary Rodriguez, and Madalena Rodriguez.

Memorial Service will be held January 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Victorious Church in Swink, with Pastor Daniel Blackwell officiating. Services will conclude at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Pauline’s name to Arkansas Valley Hospice at P.O. Box 408; La Junta, CO 81050 directly or through the funeral home.
