Colorado State Patrol Reports Seriously Injured Juvenile in Rocky Ford Rollover Accident

On January 20, 2024 at 12:03 pm Colorado State Troopers responded to a Single-Vehicle Rollover on Otero County Rd 18 .6 miles South of Otero County Rd BB.

Vehicle Description: 2003 Ford F-250 Pickup Truck

Driver: 18 year old male driver of Rocky Ford, CO, no seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries, transported for medical treatment.

Passenger: 16 year old female from Rocky Ford, CO, no seatbelt, sustained serious injuries, ejected, transported for medical treatment.

Narrative:

The Vehicle was traveling southbound on Otero County Rd 18, when the driver lost control and went off the left side of the road, rolling one time colliding with an embankment. During that sequence of events the female party was ejected from the vehicle.

According to the Colorado State Patrol Excessive Speed is Suspected, Alcohol or Drugs are Not Suspected. The Colorado State Patrol Public Information Officer Reported that the Crash is Currently Under Investigation.
