North La Junta Bridge CDOT Update Jan. 29, 2024

Otero County - CO 109 bridge rehabilitation and improvements project consists of work on structure M-22-AY carrying CO 109 over US 50, BNSF Railroad, and the Arkansas River between MP 56.4 and MP 56.9. The work includes removing existing asphalt surfacing, class 2 and 3 deck repairs, patching concrete piers, bearing repair corbels, fiber-reinforced polymer wrap, waterproofing membrane, asphalt surfacing, and a mill and overlay on the roadway approaches. 

Traffic Impacts

Monday, Jan. 29 to Friday, Mar. 1 work will consist of:

  • Northbound and southbound one-lane road closure resulting in alternating traffic controlled by a temporary signal with intermittent flagging on CO 109 over BNSF and Arkansas River

Project Schedule

  • The project will be in operation Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The project is anticipated to end mid March 2024
