Obituary

Felix Grajeda, 74, of La Junta, CO passed away at Memorial Hospital North on January 27, 2024, in Colorado Springs, CO surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 31, 1949, in La Junta to Mariano & Carmen (Granillo) Grajeda.

Felix joined the United States Army after going to college for 2 years. He served during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart. After returning home, he worked at Dean Foods pickle plant for 30 years and held several positions while there. He then worked at Wal-Mart in the deli department for over 10 years. Felix loved to watch football and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. He also really enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Felix is survived by his wife, Mercedes Lovato of the La Junta home; children, David Lovato of La Junta; and Melissa Lovato of La Junta; grandsons, Thomas & Dakota Lovato-Rich; siblings, Margaret (Johnny) Rodriguez of La Junta; Rose Mary Grajeda of La Junta; and Frank Grajeda of La Junta; numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pete Grajeda.

As per Felix’s request, there will be no services at this time.
