Obituary

Andy Anthony Nunez of La Junta, Colorado, entered into rest January 28, 2024, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born to Rebecca and Santos Nunez February 10, 1959, in La Junta, Colorado. Andy was 64 years of age.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Nunez of La Junta, children Aaron “X” (Wendy) Aragon of La Junta, Anthony “T-Bone” (Jessica) Nunez, of La Junta, Colorado, Amanda Nunez of La Junta, Colorado and Andrew “Bitty” (Kayci) Nunez of Greeley, Colorado, grandchildren, Jalen and Tanis Aragon, Lexi and Noah Nunez,-Rebel, Santos “Joe Joe” Nunez, II, Chole Nunez, Nolan Nunez, Sister, Sue Nunez of Pueblo, Colorado, Eva Nunez of Pueblo, Colorado< Betty Nunez of Long Beach, California, Michelle (Kenny) Arguello of La Junta, Colorado brothers George Nunez of Denver, Colorado, Charlie (Delaine) Nunez of Pueblo. Colorado, Louis (Pearl) Nunez of Pueblo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Andy is preceded in death by his parents Rebecca and Santos Nunez, brothers, Rueben Nunez, Bob Nunez, and Richard Nunez.

Andy married the love of his life Beatrice on August 14, 1982, sharing 42 years of marriage. He worked for the B.N.S.F. railroad for 20 years and after he retired, he worked for the City of La Junta as the Parks and Recreation Coordinator doing everything, he could do to help the youth of our community through sports. He was an Avid Denver Broncos, and Denver Nuggets, Fan! He was the #1 fan for all his grandchildren and loved watching them playing in any sport and being a part of the youth sports. He enjoyed being a coach and he was like a second father to many children over the years. He was a great father, grandfather, friend and member of our community. He will be remembered and greatly missed.

A 9:00 A.M Visitation will be held Tuesday February 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church followed by a 9:30 Rosary and a 10:00 A.M, Funeral Mass. A reception will be held at the Parish Hall following services at the church.
