Otero College to Showcase Cutting-Edge Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs at Open House & Social Event

LA JUNTA — Otero College is excited to announce its upcoming CTE Open House & Social, an event designed to connect businesses and individuals in the community with the unique Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming offered at the college. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lobby of the Life Science building on the Otero College campus. Appetizers and refreshments are on us!

This event invites the public to explore and experience the innovative, state-of-the-art technology that Otero College has to offer. The CTE Open House & Social serves as a platform to showcase the excellence of our CTE programs, foster collaboration between the college and local businesses, and provide an opportunity for attendees to mingle and enjoy refreshments.

Attendees can look forward to a range of technology highlights, including Heavy Equipment Simulators, Virtual Welders, Nursing (Hospital) Simulation Labs, "A Day in the Life" of a Medical Lab Tech, Surveillance Drones, and Livestock Animal Models. These cutting-edge resources provide students with hands-on experiences that prepare them for a wide range of jobs and industries.

Allie Vanhook, Director of Career and Technical Education and Workforce, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "In February, we celebrate Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, and nationwide, CTE programs play a crucial role in equipping the workforce for various job opportunities and industries. At Otero College, we are thrilled to welcome the community to our campus and showcase the exceptional work accomplished by our CTE programs. We take pride in our state-of-the-art technology that allows our students to gain the best possible education and prepare them for their future careers."

The CTE Open House & Social is open to the entire community and promises to be an informative and engaging event. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 4 – 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Life Sciences building to discover the exciting opportunities that await in the world of CTE.

This event invites the public to explore and experience the innovative, state-of-the-art technology that Otero College has to offer.
