Obituary

Norman E. Wolak, of Walsenburg, Colorado, entered into rest February 11, 2024 peacefully in his Walsenburg, home surrounded by family.

He was born on November 11, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to Genevieve and Barney Wolak. He was 92 years of age. Norman proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Norman was a loving, caring, kind, generous, smart, and proud individual. He was deeply devoted to his family and leaves behind his wife, Mildred, his daughter Daina, his daughter in love Susan, and his granddaughters Jessica (Jeremy), Elizabeth (Clayton), Kourtny (Matt), and Michelle (Mark). He was also a beloved great-grandfather to Lilly (Thad), Autumn, Payten, Camryn, Italia, Marcelino, Weston, Sloan, and Emmi.

Norman was preceded in death by his father, Barney, his mother, Genevieve, his two brothers and his sister, his sons, Dean and Aron.

After his military service, Norman pursued higher education at Western State College. He went on to become the owner of The Credit Bureau of Walsenburg, where he made significant contributions to his community.

In his free time, Norman enjoyed golfing, fishing with his daughter, and hunting. These hobbies brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with nature.

A service to honor Norman's life will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Church, located at 205 W 10th St, Walsenburg, CO. The Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home in La Junta, Colorado, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Sangre De Cristo Hospice in memory of Norman.

The family would like to send a special "Thank you" to Jen, Hillary, Amanda, Melissa, and Bethany for the wonderful care they provided for Norman.

May Norman rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
