La Junta Shooting Update

In a joint effort with the La Junta Police Department, Denver Police Department and Colorado Bureau of Investigation, a warrant was served at a Denver residence on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. The warrant was in connection to shots fired incidents in La Junta on February 2, 2024.

A male juvenile was taken into custody without incident by members of the Denver Police Department at a home in the 100 block of E. 4th Avenue just after 6:00p.m. on Wednesday evening. 

The juvenile suspect was transported to a juvenile facility where he is being held on attempted first degree murder charges and contempt of court for a probation violation.    

This remains an active investigation. Information will be released as it becomes available.
