Obituary

Aurora Gallegos of Rocky Ford passed away at her home on May 4, 2024 at the age of 86. Aurora was born in Ciudad Guzmán, Mexico. She moved to California where she met Jake Gallegos. They were married and had a son, Danny Gallegos. They moved back to Rocky Ford in the mid 70’s. Aurora worked at the frozen food and pickle plant. She liked taking care of her house and gardening in her yard. She was an active member at St. Peter’s Catholic Church until her health made it to where she couldn’t make it to church anymore. Aurora loved her family and would travel to the Los Angeles area to visit her son Rudy and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors, traveling to the mountains and picking piñon nuts.

Aurora is survived by her 3 children: Rodolfo Castollo of California, Javier Flores of Mexico, Daniel Gallegos of Rocky Ford, 11 grandchildren, 19, great-grandchildren, 3 siblings: Mary Elena Flores, Consuelo Flores and Ava Garcia. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob Gallegos, 1 daughter Anarosa Flores, sister Emilda Chavez.
