Obituary

Madelyn Dorothy Messick of Rocky Ford passed away at her home on Monday, May 20, 2024 at the age of 68. Madelyn loved her family and was proud to be a grandma. She made sure to go to all of the school events, always rooting for her grandchildren. She liked to go camping and fishing. Madelyn was an avid reader, she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She made baby blankets for anyone who needed them, she donated blankets to the nursing homes. She loved to play with her dog, she would also play games on her tablet, and she had friends all over the world that she would chat with. Madelyn was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed her the most to offer love, wisdom, and support. She loved her family more then anything. She loved to go on road trips and would just get in the car and go with no real destination in mind, just a passion for adventure.

Madelyn is survived by her 2 sons: Jared (Rebecca) Messick of Rocky Ford, Robby Hasty of Buena Vista, 7 grandchildren, and siblings Julie (troy) Clinkingbeard of La Junta, Mike (Sandy) Messick of Cheraw. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Love and her brother Danny Messick.
