La Junta Fire Department VS Two Rice Ave Structure Fires May 26, 2024
This morning at approx 600am a reported structure fire was reported in the 1200 blk of Rice.
Upon arrival of Engine 1 heavy fire was seen through the roof and spreading to a second house to the South. Mutal aid was called in from Rocky Ford Fire, Mazanola Fire, Cheraw Fire and Las Animas Fire.
The challenge of fighting this fire was the conditions of the house and property.
The fire is under investigation at this time with assistance of Division of Fire Prevention Control. Further information will be released at a later time.
