La Junta Fire Dept VS Vehicle Fire

At approx 1215pm today (6/28/24) we responded to a reported car fire at Walmart parking lot.

Upon arrival of Chief Davidson, active fire found coming from the engine compartment of the car.

All occupants had exited the vehicle. Crew did a quick knockdown and extinguished the fire.

They also made sure there was no further fire progressing to the inside of the car.

The fire started up in the engine compartment.

All crews returned to service. LJPD assisted with traffic control.
