Obituary

Vada “Marlene” Cottrell went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2024 at the age of 86. Marlene was born on April 1, 1938 to Ellen Vada and Eugene Lowell Burke in Charlo, MT and was raised in Kellog, ID. Marlene married Carl R. Cottrell on March 5, 1955 in Idaho. In 1967 they moved to Cashmere, WA where she worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses. Marlene moved to Wilcox, AZ in 2004 and Rocky Ford in 2015. Marlene managed the Rocky Ford Community Thrift Shop from 2020 – 2024.

Marlene is survived by her 3 sisters: Ellen (Dean) Warren of Entiat, WA, Arlene “Ann” (Pete) Main of Herber Springs, AR, and Cora (Phil) Cunningham of Everett, WA, 2 daughters: Tina Harrison of Jefferson City, MO, and Cora (Donnie) Cottrell-Wortman of Rocky Ford, 5 grandchildren: Destin (Kylee) Stark, Robbie (Marlorie) Harrison, Ryan Best, Wendell Walters, and Carlee (Trevor) Love. She was preceded in death by her parents: Vada and Lowell Burke, husband Carl Cottrell and her son Carl Monte Cottrell.

Per Marlene’s request there will be no services.

Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
