Armed Fugitive Arrested After Brief Standoff

July 10, 2024 –  Pueblo, CO –The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Pueblo Police announce the arrest of an armed fugitive after a brief standoff in Pueblo Tuesday afternoon. 36-year old Robert Pierce had been wanted on multiple felony warrants from several counties across the state of Colorado. The warrants were for weapons offenses, narcotic violations and several instances of vehicular eluding, including most recently on July 2, 2024 in Pueblo County. Pierce was known to be armed and dangerous.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) Investigations Section received a tip that Robert Jareth Pierce (D.O.B. 02/11/1988) was at a storage facility on Pueblo's southside. PPD Detectives began conducting surveillance of the storage facility and requested the assistance of the CBI. PPD detectives and CBI Agents were able to positively identify Pierce at one of the storage units.

The PPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) was requested due to Pierce's known propensity for violence. PPD SWAT arrested Pierce without incident after a brief standoff. Pierce was armed with a handgun at the time his arrest. Pierce was transported to the Pueblo County Jail and booked on his outstanding warrants. Additional charges may be filed.
